Dr. Burns enjoyed her general chiropractic practice, but was often frustrated by the struggles of her overweight and obese patients. These folks were at a much higher risk of joint pain and degeneration, but they also experienced a much higher incidence of hypertension, high cholesterol, type II diabetes and GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux) than non-overweight patients. They were on multiple medications to control these conditions, and they just did not feel well much of the time.
Dr. Burns was introduced to Ideal Protein by a colleague, and decided to investigate it for herself. The protocol was based on sound physiological principles, and the products were varied and tasty.
